Can I fold T-shirts?
Yes. A wide variety of T-shirts can be folded on all NEDCO models.
Can I fold Long Sleeves?
Yes
How?
There are two ways to fold long sleeve shirts with an E-Z Fold machine. 1.
Sleeves can be pre-folded behind the body of the shirt and then folded in the
machine in the normal 4-fold pattern. 2. The E-Z Fold Long Sleeve Option can be
used to fold the sleeves under the shirt automatically without pre-folding.
How many T-shirts / Sweatshirts / Golf Shirts can I
fold per hour?
Actual folding speeds vary depending on the product and personnel. An average
speed for standard T-shirts with a print or embroidery embellishment on one
side is between 600-800 per hour. NEDCO has customers who consistently fold
between 800-1000 shirts per hour. (We have one account who has folded 1400
shirts per hour).
Can I fold Hooded Sweatshirts?
Yes. With or without the sleeves pre-folded.
Can I fold Golf Shirts?
Yes, many golf shirt companies are spec folding now. Please call us for
references.
Can I fold shirts with a print on the front and back?
Yes, Teflon contact points in the folding machine are the keys. Contact NEDCO
for any special requirements. Test folding in our factory is suggested.
Can I fold Embroidered shirts?
Yes. Folding width's can be easily adjusted to accommodate thick backings or
large embellishments.
Can a shirt with a button or zipper pass through the
machine successfully?
Yes.
Can I stack shirts at the end of the folder?
Yes
Manually or Automatically?
Product can be stacked after folding either manually or automatically. An
operator can manually stack product as it comes out of the folding machine.
NEDCO also offers fully programmable automatic stackers that can stack product
and then index down a conveyor to a bagging machine.
How many operators do I need?
Normal operation of the E-Z Fold 1000 or 2000 with a Unibagger II requires two
operators. One to load the folding machine and one to load the bagging machine.
NEDCO offers the OPPL (One-Person Packing Line) for lower labor/production
environments. (See OPPL info below)
Can I use one operator to fold and manually bag?
Yes. The NEDCO OPPL (one person packing line) is designed to allow one person
to fold and poly bag products. Special conveyors deliver folded products to the
feed end of the machine for one-person operation.
What is the smallest fold width I can fold?
Depending on the machine we provide and the product to be folded, the minimum
finished fold width can be as small as 4 inches. Test folding is recommended
for very small garments. Special folding plates and equipment are available to
accomplish a wide variety of folding widths. Beginning size of the product is
critical for small fold widths to be successful.
What is the largest fold width I can fold?
The E-Z Fold 2000 model will accommodate up to a 15" wide fold. Actual
fold width varies depending on the thickness of the product being folded. The
E-Z Fold linear actuators allow for infinite adjustments to insure exact
specification folding. Custom machinery is available.
Is the E-Z Fold 1000/2000 CE approved for Europe?
Yes
Is the E-Z Fold 1000/2000 CSA approved for Canada?
Yes
Can I fold Towels?
Yes. The beginning product size and finish fold size are critical. Some towels
require a pre-fold to accomplish the desired fold. Test folding in our factory
is suggested.
Can I fold sheets?
Current NEDCO folding models cannot accommodate bed sheets.
Can I fold Boxer shorts?
Yes. The beginning size and finish fold size is critical. Test folding in our
factory is suggested.
Can I fold dress shirts?
Yes. The adjustability and design of E-Z Fold equipment delivers a very crisp
clean fold for dress shirts.
Can I clip, pin or tape dress shirts?
No. E-Z Fold equipment is designed for folding and bagging only. Additional
packaging of this nature must be done off-line.
Can I fold vests?
NEDCO has had very good results folding some types of vests. Test folding in
our factory is recommended.
Can I fold kids pajamas?
Many children's garments can be folded individually or in sets. NEDCO needs to
know the beginning chest size and finished fold size for any type of children's
garments. Test folding in our factory is recommended.
Can I fold clothing sets?
Yes. It depends on the garments. Test folding in our factory is suggested.
Can I fold handkerchiefs?
Some handkerchiefs can be folded. Beginning product size and finished fold size
required is critical for success. Test folding in our factory is suggested.
Can I fold Flags?
Depending on the size and material, some flags can be folded successfully.
Larger flags sometimes require a pre-fold before placed into the machine. Test
folding in our factory is suggested.
Can I fold blankets?
Pre-folding is some times required. The general rule is the folder will bring
product down to approximately its beginning size after placement into folder.
Test folding in our factory would be required for any blanket products.
Can I insert cardboard into the garment before
folding?
Yes. NEDCO has a variety of card-feeding devices to accommodate a wide variety
of applications.
Can I use die cut cardboard?
Yes
Can I insert tissue paper into the garment before
folding?
Yes
How?
Place tissue on feed table first, then place garment on top. Garment will fold
around tissue as they pass through the machine.
Can I fold short sets?
Many short sets can be folded successfully. The beginning size and desired fold
size is critical. Test folding in our factory is required.
Can I fold dresses?
Yes. The beginning size and desired fold size is critical. Test folding in our
factory is required.
Can I fold ladies blouses?
Yes. The beginning size and desired fold size is critical. Test folding in our
factory is suggested.
Can I fold Skirts?
Yes. The beginning size and desired fold size is critical. Test folding in our
factory is required.
Can I fold pants or blue jeans?
Yes. The beginning size and desired fold size is critical. Test folding in our
factory is suggested.
Can I fold Socks or panty hose?
NEDCO folding equipment is not designed to fold socks.
Can I get a foot switch to activate the machine?
Yes. NEDCO offers a photo eye, mechanical hand switch or a foot switch cycle
start activation mechanism.
Can I adjust for thicker products? (T-Master-I,
T-Master-II, E-Z Fold 1000/2000)
Yes. The E-Z Fold 1000 & 2000 has linear actuator motors on all folding
plates. Fold width, right, left and sleeve tuckers are all adjusted with the
twist of a button. Average adjusting time can be 30 seconds to 2 minutes
depending on product to be folded. The T-Master II has a linear actuator
adjustment on the folding width plate. Tucker plates are manually adjustable.
Average adjusting time can be 30 seconds to 10 minutes depending on product to
be folded. The T-Master I has a fixed folding plate. Changing the fold width
requires changing the folding plate manually. The tucking plates are also
adjusted manually. Average adjusting time can be 3 minutes to 20 minutes
depending on product to be folded.
How long on average does it take to make product
change adjustments on the E-Z Fold 1000/2000?

Do hangtags cause a problem?
No, not usually.
Do you have an economical machine just for T-shirts?
Yes. NEDCO has the T-Master-I. The T-Master-I is supplied with a fixed folding
plate and manually adjustable tucking plates. This machine is perfect for the
shop that primarily folds T-shirt's.
